Business Development for a startup in the medical field that was importing devices from China. Led them from concept to realization including meeting with the Directors of the Medical Institute in China regarding their exclusivity agreement.
- Worked with a firm to identify and resolve issues with their two plants in China. Met weekly with various departments to improve the transfer of engineering information, the process for training staff in China on new products / processes, and management / HR issues between the locations in the U.S. and in China.
- For an American company with 15 years experience subcontracting in China, we developed a sales support system (catalog, brand identity, delivery system, etc) for them to begin targeting Chinese factories as customers for their specialty components.
- Training and project management for a company during the planning phase of building their first factory in China. This included; formal training programs for the project team, assistance in selecting the GM in China and then working with him during a training phase in the U.S., advising various departments on the expected structure of their function at the plant (finance, marketing, engineering, etc.), and ongoing support of the Project Leader in decisions relating to the facility.
- Expanded the sourcing program for a company that had 10 years experience in Asia but primarily for “off the shelf” product. We identified and qualified vendors with them, monitored their ongoing communication, developed the program for transferring product information to the factories, and assisted them in setting up a long term support team in China for QC / logistics / development.
- Project management for a group of Chinese-American developers with Chinese investors. This project included working with a large city in the Midwest to develop a multi-use development as part of the cities efforts to revitalize a blighted downtown area.
- Advised company establishing a wholesale business in the U.S. and importing from China. Worked directly with manufacturer in Shanghai on everything from product quality to shipment.
- Interim Director of Operations for a gift/consumer products company; overseeing Asian sourcing, transportation, and warehouse operations while also leading the management team in development of a corporate budgeting system.
- Executive Advisor for a Financial Services company in Los Angeles specializing in managing Letters of Credit and providing export financing based on L/C's.
- Resolved an ongoing complaint made to a U.S. company sending materials to a Customer's Chinese subcontractor. Met with the main subcontractor in China and their subcontractor who processed the materials to identify their concerns.
- Negotiations for two Chinese American companies in China with the city and bank for their proposed JV and facility.
